The history of Il Treno Liberty ballroom starts long ago: in 1989
indeed, at Via San Gregorio 46, was born “The home of the railworkers” and its majestic theatre.

The Architectural layout – engineered by Italo Gasparetti – is a rare example of social architectural of the late 1800’s, and represents a Liberty prelude; the irony load bering structure develops in ornament and decoration, qualifying the space. Since its origins Liberty balroom has been in the heart of the most peculiar events and historical facts of the city and of the entire nation. We can still hear the lost echoes of the most heated trade union meetings, the first dancing parties, the ancient theatrical pieces and the celebrations of Milan in the first years of 1900. Its walls keep welcoming many different souls of the shimmering milanese society, epitome of the most famous italian character: hospitality.

The high ceiling decorated with a prestigious masterpiece: Tryptic of workers redemption (or Railworkers Tryptic 1989), one of the most vivid exemple of social art in milan. Majestic oil on canvas, idealized by giuseppe Mentessi, painter and master at Brera Academy, who assigned its realization to his students Antonio Rizzi, Innocente Cantinotti, Guido Zuccaro, Alfonso Quarantelli).
The pavement in red nacre graniglia and the durmast furniture, bring us in the ancient parisienne ballroom during the belle epoque and, at the end of the hall, the stage and the baby grand piano ontop invite us to dance.

Il Treno Liberty ballroom can host untill 250 people but it’s great even for smaller events, ceremonies, happenings.,well-equipped cloakroom in the entrance which has direct access from Via San Gregorio 46.The uniqueness of the Ballroom, the ability to customize each initiative with excellent food and wine proposals make each event special.
